This volume contains mainly the Mother's written statements about Sri Aurobindo, about herself and her relations with people, about the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, India and other nations. They have been compiled from her messages, correspondence with sadhaks and private notes. Most of them were first published in various books and journals associated with the Ashram. The majority were written in French, the rest in English. In general the translations here are the already published ones, lightly revised when necessary. Dated statements within a section have usually been placed in chronological order, undated ones where they best fit in.

In addition to the written statements there are several tape-recorded talks, especially in the section on Auroville. Some are published here for the first time. All but one were spoken in French; the translations are either new or revisions of earlier ones.

Finally there are a few oral comments which were noted from memory by sadhaks and later approved by the Mother for publication. These are indicated by the symbol at their end.

The reader should note that most of these statements were written to individuals and at the time were not intended for circulation or for general application.

This is Volume Thirteen of the Collected Works of the Mother.
