The bell-like tones of the hammered dulcimer create showers of melodies in the Indian classical tradition. Tarun Bhattacharya, accompanied by Bikram Ghosh on tabla, appears in New York after receiving standing ovations at Royal Albert Hall in London. Tarun is one of the leading santoor players of India today. Groomed under his father, Robi Bhattacharya and Dulal Roy, he is presently under the tutelage of Pandit Ravi Shankar. Bikram Ghosh learned tabla under his father, Pandit Shankar Ghosh and is presently training under tabla maestro Gyan Prakash Ghosh. He plays in the style of Farukhabad gharana.

Meenakshi, the poet laureate of Tamil Nadu and a resident of the international community of Auroville, drawing on traditional legends creates a magical afternoon of myth and vision during her talk.Meenakshi is an outstanding scholar and activist who will be receiving an award from Friends of the United Nations on behalf of Auroville, the international community in Tamil Nadu, where she lives. Auroville is based on the ideals of Bengali nationalist, poet and seer, Sri Aurobindo.
